ItsMonday

It’s Monday! 2/6/2023

IT’S MONDAY! again, and the Republican-controlled House of Representatives keeps talking about doing the people’s business but seems to keep stepping on their own toes. A lot of energy was spent in political revenge by kicking some Democrats off of committees. A worthless vote to ban socialism will only allow them to use that rhetoric against Dems. Now some members have replaced their American Flag pin with one of an assault rifle. Do you remember when President Obama did not wear a flag pin? It was like the end of the world! We have two years of just plain twisted innuendo to look forward to, and then we will win the House back and be in control.

I can’t understand why more than 50% of polled Democrats don’t want Joe Biden to run for reelection. Other than his age, what negatives have there been with his tenure? This is absolutely the best economy we have seen in a while. There have been over 11 million jobs created in his first two years and unemployment has hit a historic low not seen in over 50 years. Public works projects are starting to come online, and the pandemic, at last, seems to be under control.

There are problems to be solved. Immigration, residual supply chain issues, and confidence in Democracy are a few. There is also belligerent Russia and China testing the boundaries.

John Adduci and I attended the Democratic State Meeting last weekend and during that function, we had endorsement votes for the PA Judicial elections coming up. Daniel McCaffery won the endorsement over Debbie Kunselman for Supreme Court. Jill Beck and Timika Lane won the endorsement for Superior Court and there are two seats there. There was no endorsement for Commonwealth Court and Brandon Neuman along with Brian Neft are vying for the one seat there.

We have work to do here. We will be hosting petition-signing events this month. We need as many Democrats as possible to come out and learn about these candidates and then sign for the ones you support. We will also have petitions for Jeff Pisarcik, our Commissioner, Jean Shaw, our Auditor, and any local candidates who may come forward. I should have a schedule of the events by next week. This is important because we need to get these candidates on the ballot.

PARTICIPATE, DONATE, VOTE!
