ItsMonday

It’s Monday! 2/3/2025

Good morning, everyone.  It is Monday again and Trump has not reversed the rotation of the earth yet, although he is trying really, really hard.  When you see the sun rising in the west and setting in the east, you will know he has been successful.  We have had the unfortunate experience of having two fatal aviation accidents in the past week, shortly after Trump fired the head of the FAA and encouraged air traffic controllers to quit their jobs. The agency is already running short handed and air traffic control is working overtime to keep up.  The Washington DC crash has all the earmarks of overworked air traffic control and pilot error.  The Philadelphia incident, so soon after liftoff, was most likely a severe mechanical malfunction or engine failure, that caused the aircraft to stall.

Of course, we do not have any definitive answers as to what caused these accidents.  They will be forthcoming after detailed investigations and may take months.  What we do know for sure, is that these incidents were in no way, shape, or form, caused by DEI hiring practices!  Trump has said many stupid, irrational, and illogical things in the past nine years, but this has to be number one on the list.  Air traffic control personnel go through a four year training program and are highly professional.  When I fly, I would prefer the professional over the toadie who signed a loyalty pledge.

This weekend, we had the Groundhog Day welcoming event at the office.  We welcomed visitors from several places in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Missouri, and Nevada.  Everyone had a good time and a lot of hot chocolate and goodies were consumed.  Several books and bears went out the door also.

Office hours are starting up again this week. We will be open from 4-7pm on Wednesday February 5, and from 12-3pm on Saturday February 8.  Let’s start there and move forward.  There will be a sign up calendar for anyone who wants to do a little office time.  Its time to be open for business again.  In conjunction with that we want to start up a discussion group, that will meet outside of meeting times, have a topic chosen, and somebody assigned to research said topic and present it to the group.  This could turn out to be very interesting and informative.

Petitions are coming soon. We will have an event to support judges and anyone who may want to enter a local race.

More people need to take advantage of the opportunities we can create just by having the office.  It is a resource that we are paying for, so use your imagination.
